In 2023, I relocated to Ireland and I was compelled to temporarily sacrifice aspects of my practice due to limitations of space and resources, leading me to focus exclusively on painting. The work produced during this period reflects a mental state of transition between life in Malta and the new reality of Ireland with all the challenges this brings. It examines architectural spaces that exist in a liminal condition between the two islands, drawn from both memory and observation. This work also engages with notions of homesickness and nostalgia, while also addressing questions of self-identity.
